Annual Events

Paczki Day – February

Paczki Day is a Polish tradition that is celebrated on the day before Ash Wednesday (also known as Shrove Tuesday, Fat Tuesday, or Mardi Gras). Paczki are sugary pastries that combine glossy dough with a delicious fruit filling. Families are invited to gather and indulge in some paczki before entering the fasting season of Lent, which emphasizes refraining from “pleasurable” foods.

Easter Egg Hunt – March/April

This is held on Easter Sunday on the playground after the 10:00 a.m. service. Bring your basket and hunt for eggs. The Easter Bunny will be there to meet the children!

Dine Around the World – April

A social evening to enjoy meals from different cultures with fellow parishioners, featuring food from up to twelve different countries – including dessert.

Blessing of the Backpacks – September

On the first day of Sunday School in September, children bring their backpacks to the front of the church during the 10:00 a.m. service for a special blessing.

Welcome Back Ice Cream Social – September

This is held in mid-September immediately following the 10:00 a.m. service. Current and new church members get together for ice cream and fellowship; a great way to meet new friends!

Blessing of the Animals – October

This celebration honors Saint Francis, the patron saint of animals and the environment, and all pet owners are welcome to bring their pets. This fun afternoon includes animal blessings, a free petting zoo, dog/cat adoptions, and a bake sale with both human and dog treats!

Blanket Night – November

Parishioners meet to make no-sew fleece blankets to give to a local organization, Angels for Action, for distribution to those in need in our community.

Cookies with Santa – December

Children put their letters in Santa’s mailbox, tell Santa what is on their list and take some great pictures. Santa gives each child a small party favor and some cookies. This is a great way for young families of the parish to kick off the Christmas season.

Advent Wreath Making – December

Come make your own Advent wreath with members of the Flower Guild. No experience necessary! Held in early December so that you have your wreath to observe Advent.

Friday Night Socials

Parishioners host adult Friday night socials at varying times throughout the year – a casual setting with drinks and light snacks to reconnect with old friends and make new ones.
