YogaMass. It is a unique experience engaging our whole beings — physical, mental, and spiritual. It is way more than a good workout. It reconnects us, through sacred ritual and practices, to God. It is a great way for busy parents to reconnect with the Christian Faith in a deep, experiential way. YogaMass is designed to create the space where we can experience union with God.
Is this like regular Yoga?
Yes, somewhat. There will be the kind of yoga movements that you would expect from any yoga studio, along with breath work. But we will also spend some important time meditating in the stillness and drawing on other ancient Christian practices like taking Holy Communion. There will be music.
Who is leading YogaMass?
We are privileged to be led by a certified leader of YogaMass, experienced yoga teacher, and member of the St Paul’s community, Tammi Oberstein. She will be joined by Fr Duncan and Fr John Francis, who will lead the meditations and Communion.
Is there a cost?
No. YogaMass is part of St Paul’s diverse range of weekly worship opportunities and is free to everyone. Participants will usually wish to drop a donation into a bowl to help cover costs.
When and where is YogaMass?
It takes place in the main worship area of St Paul’s Church on Sundays at 4pm, beginning on January 5th and Tuesdays at 9:15am, beginning on January 7th.
